Dear Readers,

Welcome to the March edition of Symbio VoIP Update, Symbio Networks' official review of the latest headline news, hot topics, technologies and operations coming out of Symbio within the region.

The March edition is the first one for 2010. In this edition we are happy to announce we have acquired a Carrier Access Code and are a winner in the Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2009 program. Also, we have been busy over the New Year deploying our National aggregation network throughout Australia with two new Australia POPs now running live services, and with more landmark projects due for completion in the coming months you'll be able to read all about them in our coming newsletters.

The Symbio Networks Team

Symbio Networks Acquires Carrier Access Code

We are proud to announce Symbio Networks has acquired a Carrier Access Code (CAC), which will allow us to interconnect  our VoIP network directly with the traditional Tier 1 Carriers in Australia.  Once the CAC is deployed later this year, it will bring Symbio's VoIP network capabilities on-par with the existing Tier 1 and Tier 2 voice carriers in Australia.

One direct benefit of this project will be the capability to port local numbers (LNP) from Carriers directly onto our VoIP core network - something that the VoIP industry is struggling to achieve today, and a problem that is limiting the growth and penetration of VoIP services into the mass market.   Additional benefits will include increased quality, reliability and geographic reach of services.

As part of the interconnection project we will also be expanding our current active network capacity to triple its current infrastructure volumes.  Symbio Networks is currently routing over 1 Billion VoIP minutes per annum, and expects that figure to grow significantly in the near future. We expect this growth to be fuelled by an increased take up of VoIP services into the lucrative Small Business market, as well new mobile-VoIP and wireless-VoIP applications, in addition to continued growth of international carrier services.

Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific program

We are proud to announce Symbio Networks is a winner in Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2009 program.

The program recognizes technology companies that have achieved the fastest rates of annual revenue growth in Asia Pacific during the past three years.  These companies are from industry sectors such as Software & Internet to Semiconductors & Green Technology and of course Telecommunications & Networking.

"The technology sector showed resilience and continued growth despite economic issues   driving the global landscape," said, Jolyon Barker, Deloitte Global Managing Partner Technology, Media and Telecommunications. "The biggest returns for this year's fast-growing companies have been generated by breakthrough and ongoing innovation in both existing and new markets."

Melbourne and Brisbane Points of Presence now live

Extending our presence within Australia, we are happy to announce two new Points of Presence (POPs) are  now live.  They are situated at Fujitsu Data Centre in Brisbane and Interactive Data Centre in Melbourne.   More POPs are planned for other capital cities & major regional centres as we continue our national network rollout over the next few months.  We will also be peering at the major peering exchanges in these capital cities.  The additional POPs will enable us to meet more of our customers in more places.

The rollout of the Australian national network extends an already existing international IP footprint which spans Australia & New Zealand and into South East Asia. Continued expansion of this footprint in 2010 will enable more carriers both domestic & international to take advantage of our high-quality VoIP services as we solidify a position as the leading VoIP operator for the region.
